What is a verification code?




What is a Verification Code?


Verification codes are a form of two-factor authentication that protects your account from potential fraud.



Warning: The code will expire after 30 minutes. To receive a new code you can select ‘resend verification code’. The code can be sent a maximum of 5 times before the account will be locked. The account can be unlocked by resetting the password and a waiting period of 24 hours.

 

Procedure


SMS
 
  1. Login to your GU account.
  2. You will receive a verification code via SMS (Data rates may apply).
  3. Once you receive the code, you may enter it at the ‘security verification’ screen.

Email
  1. Login in to your GU account.
  2. You will receive a verification code via email.
  3. Once you receive the code, you may enter it at the ‘security verification’ screen.
